Retranscription des paroles de la vidéo: [Music] this is a normal drone it self stabilizes it stops you from crashing into walls it basically flies itself and this is an fpv drone it doesn’t self stabilize it doesn’t stop you from running into walls and it does not fly itself in any capacity and because of this the learning curve for fpv is incredibly steep but back in 2019 I tried to tackle it and I tried for months to be a good fpv pilot but every crash and every drone I had to rebuild meant that I spent more time fixing the drones rather than flying I sold my drone in all of its parts and I took a seat watching as everyone got all the shots that I dreamed of getting but you can only sit and watch this happen for so long in 2022 DJI released the avat it was a drone that was said to simplify the experience of fpv no more soldering your drone together and no more frustration at why your drone isn’t even working from this I desperately wanted to start fpv again but stored because I gave up on the idea of being good at this years ago but then an opportunity came by that I thought maybe this is the year we put that aside and this is the year that we make this happen you see every few years my family and I go see extended family in Tahiti but to get to Tahiti you need to make a stop at New Zealand a place that has some pretty crazy looking scenery but it has one place in particular that I want to get to and that is Cara mandal the future location of my dream shot the goal is to get a shot where I’m Mountain surfing and then go through this cave to then reveal the the scenery on the other side now on the 27th of July I’m going to New Zealand for this trip but there’s just one problem my skill level is definitely not ready for this so in order to do this shot confidently I’m going to set myself challenges week by week leading up to the dream shot date so this is day one I guess um the current task is to actually get a drone so that’s what I’m doing at the moment I found one for a pretty good deal that was about an hour and a half driveway so yeah we’re going to grab that one and then I guess we’ll start on like the simulator and all that stuff again I picked up the Drone and the seller gave it a bit of a test flight to show it was all working well and as we went our separate ways he gave me some important advice that maybe I should have actually listened to thank you thanks so much now like I mentioned there’s been some big changes in the fpv world since I left and the biggest one is that the stream coming from the Drone went from looking like this to looking like this well it looks pretty cool looks a lot cooler than the other one waa right I can see me how cool is it it’s so clear that makes me sick we have no footage of this but I spent the entire morning trying to set up the controller with the fpv simulator now the simulator is basically a virtual way for you to practice the Drone because the risk of crashing is quite High especially when you’re starting fpv genely this is where you start so you don’t risk breaking your drone and this simulator is the biggest asset I have to learning how to maneuver the Drone properly okay this is this is this is pretty similar to how I remember it oh my God but although it felt similar it didn’t come back to me as much as ID hoped while practicing just moving the Drone I found myself mostly crashed on the floor all right so I’ve just completed my first simulator flight and well for the most part I I just kind of crashed a lot which is a good thing that I’m getting my crashes out now instead of an actual drone because I’m sure if I was flying an actual drone by now let’s just say I wouldn’t have a drone anymore now at this point it occurred to me that my skill level was definitely not where I left it so I spent the next 2 days putting the hours into the simulator Q the training [Music] montage P it the limit walk along raise don’t look down just keep your head your minutes [Music] open the limit that’s the point of no Victory reach the top of still you got to learn how to keep it [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] at this point it was pretty hard for me to see a clear path between barely being able to fly the Drone and then like diving down a mountain but I remembered that the one thing I actually had to do was to create challenges every week that slowly improved my skills so I decided on putting together a list of what other fpv Pilots would consider a beginner maneuver list and the plan was to practice these Maneuvers in the simulator first and then when I get comfortable try them out in the real world with the Drone and hopefully do all that by the end of the week all right let’s look up beginner fpv Maneuvers there we go all right this looks pretty good in this article we’ve compiled a list of beginner fpv Maneuvers that will lay the foundation for your fpv skills that kind of sounds like what we want and from here I compiled a list of Maneuvers that I wanted to complete by the end of the week starting from easiest to hardest we have reverse orbit cork screw the roll back swing backwards flying and split s now for the most part I was able to pull off most of these in the simulator okay so reverse orbits cork screw the back swing backwards flying and split s ah it’s a little dodgy but I’ll count it the key word there being in the simulator you see up until this point I hadn’t actually taken the Drone outside and I recognized that the fact that I hadn’t flown the Drone yet was actually a big problem the thing is I’m using two different simulators right now one on the computer and one on my phone finding that to be kind of an issue because I don’t know what the Drone feels like now I I’ve looked online to see what people think some people say the Drone is super fast feels so fast and some people literally call this drone a potato I just straight up don’t know what the Drone is going to feel like when I actually take it outside and I think my concern there is that I’m training my muscle memory for something completely different so let’s take it for a flight all right so this is the first [Music] flight this was my first flight in years and to say I was nervous is an understatement [Music] okay so in terms of how the Drone feels it’s definitely on the potato side but after some flying around I started to get comfortable with the feeling of the Drone in hindsight maybe a bit too [Music] comfortable gosh is it all right it seems to have no issues once I reset the Drone so let’s not try that again for a while with the deadline approaching tomorrow I had to go at the Maneuvers I was practicing in the simulator okay so one of the moves that we had to do was to split s the problem is is when we go up it’s really hard to catch the Drone out of the split s because it’s so heavy so if I go up like this and we try that split this I didn’t say anything at the time but I knew something felt off with the Drone you see for a split s you need to pull a full 180 flip and reverse the direction that you’re traveling but the Drone wasn’t flipping and I was a bit worried that this was because of the weight and you can see here I’m trying to do the split s but it’s just not flipping over and before I even had a chance to really test it I ran out of battery so I called it a day oh God from after the war and then in the late 9 well this isn’t the best situation um I don’t know if you can tell it’s like sprinkling there’s like little puddles everywhere it’s not flyable for a drone I think this is the last day I intended to have those Maneuvers done so to make sure that I got them I waited for the rain to clear okay okay it’s clear it’s clear it’s clear let’s go let’s go so our first maneuver is a reverse orbit done all right next one cork screw so cork screw we go like this oh gosh not again hang something’s wrong with the drain let’s bring it back let’s bring it back whatever issues we had yesterday we had them again today it doesn’t go upside down it like refuses to go upside down I think that’s why I had trouble with the split s yesterday and as it turns out even though I had the Drone in manual mode there was a setting within the goggles that basically stopped the Drone from going past 45° to either side this is getting so tedious I thought something was wrong yesterday when it couldn’t fully flip when I was testing some Maneuvers turns out I was right luckily I was able to find a way to unlock this setting and then from here we reattempted the Maneuvers okay let’s go for cork screw one by one done roll done and back swing that’s cool I will take that I successfully knocked over each maneuver so the last two is flying backwards and split s okay so first one is backwards flying actually not too hard that one was pretty easy and the next one is a split s so a split s is probably the sketchiest one I’m going to go for it [Music] oh oh no gosh all right let’s try it again okay let’s try it again let’s try it again we can do this we can do this this is definitely like one of the more harder Maneuvers yes all right we did it that is it oh my [Music] God all right let’s let’s try to land this on our little mat and there we go to finish it off landed it straight on the mat oh we did it all right I’m so happy with that what’s up guys all right so I’ve been practicing the last few days um in the simulator and a bit outside at like parks and stuff but I wanted to see how I could do in like an obstacle course so I’m actually currently at my parents house has a much bigger area that we can fly around and that way we can see how good we are at maneuvering around actual obstacles not just doing the Maneuvers yeah let’s see if any of this practice is actually paid off okay here we go oh God oky dokie with a few more hours of practice under my belt I was able to get pretty comfortable flying around it was good to not only return to fpv but also fly the same area that I used to [Music] fly shoot [Applause] [Music] .

0.09 it&;s clear let&;s go let&;s go so our
0.09 first maneuver is a reverse orbit
0.09 done all right next one cork screw so
0.09 cork screw we go like
0.09 this oh gosh not again hang something&;s
0.09 wrong with the
0.09 drain let&;s bring it back let&;s bring it
0.09 back whatever issues we had yesterday we
0.09 had them again today it doesn&;t go

0.09 we reattempted the
0.09 Maneuvers okay let&;s go for cork screw
0.09 one by one done
0.09 roll done and back swing
0.09 that&;s cool I will take that I
0.09 successfully knocked over each maneuver
0.09 so the last two is flying backwards and
0.09 split s okay so first one is backwards
0.09 flying actually not too hard that one
0.09 was pretty easy and the next one is a
0.09 split s so a split s is probably the
0.09 sketchiest one I&;m going to go for it
0.09 [Music]
0.09 oh oh no gosh all right let&;s try it
0.09 again okay let&;s try it again let&;s try
0.09 it again we can do this we can do this
0.09 this is definitely like one of the more
0.09 harder
0.09 Maneuvers
0.09 yes all right we did it that is it oh my
0.09 [Music]
0.09 God all right let&;s let&;s try to land
0.09 this on our little
0.09 mat and there we go to finish it off
0.09 landed it straight on the
0.09 mat
0.09 oh we did it all right I&;m so happy with
0.09 that what&;s up guys all right so I&;ve
0.09 been practicing the last few days um in
0.09 the simulator and a bit outside at like
0.09 parks and stuff but I wanted to see how
0.09 I could do in like an obstacle course so
0.09 I&;m actually currently at my parents
0.09 house has a much bigger area that we can
0.09 fly around and that way we can see how
0.09 good we are at maneuvering around actual
0.09 obstacles not just doing the Maneuvers
0.09 yeah let&;s see if any of this practice
0.09 is actually paid off okay here we
0.09 go oh God oky
0.09 dokie with a few more hours of practice
0.09 under my belt I was able to get pretty
0.09 comfortable flying around it was good to
0.09 not only return to fpv but also fly the
0.09 same area that I used to
